The best thing about the hotel was the shower! Hot and powerful. The bathroom was tiny and you couldn't open the bathroom door fully as the toilet was in the way. The beds were comfortable but the linens was very old. No wifi as it was "broken" same with getting a duplicate key- that machine was also broken! The breakfast was ok but the staff seemed completely disengaged couldn't crack a smile. We were with a large party of rugby players under 17 and I don't know what genius thought they would eat cod, cabbage and boiled potatoes for dinner on not one but 2 nights. Needless to say McDonalds' profits went through the roof for the weekend. The barman was the only cheerful soul in the place. All in all the word I would use for this hotel is tired. Much better value and nicer places to stay in Lisbon.

Stayed close to week, the hotel has everything you need for a city trip. Clean and comfy. The amazonian green color theme in the room is strange, but everything is in a very good condition and functionally designed. Breakfast is good.

Great hotel clean rooms friendly staff lots of local restaurants around to get real feel of Lisbon and easy on the pockets . Rooms cleaned every day with modern bathroom and balcony with nice size tv plus ac. Would stay here again no problem.

I've stayed at the Amazónia 98 times over the past 21 years and clocked up more than 1100 nights. Wouldn't go anywhere else in Lisbon. The rooms were refurbished about 5-7 years ago and are quite nice. Sitting room is a little scarce in standard rooms. Internet coverage has improved a lot. The view of the sunrise over the Tagus is stunning, if you have an uneven-numbered room (from your own balcony). The restaurant serves a good breakfast that hasn't changed during my time, neat and fresh every day. The bar is under-appreciated and often a lonely place with only the telly. I've made my displeasure known at a Covid-induced reorganisation of the space outside the bar, that used to provide a superb place for a quiet beer and a book, some laptop work, or a bit of birdwatching. I hope they will do something about it. Staff is outstanding. Many have been there for years, some since the beginning of my patronage.

This hotel is far too expensive for what it is. The room is depressing and like a student dorm, there aren’t any facilities in it and my air conditioning unit leaked on my first night DIRECTLY INTO MY OPEN SUITCASE. Staff were extremely unbothered when I told them and my request to move rooms was ignored. They sent an engineer to fix the problem which worked for one night, but on the third night it started dripping onto the floor again keeping me awake. It’s a rubbish hotel that costs way more than it should and I’ll be leaving early.
